to each other. The pious Pathan asked many difficult questions. satisfied with the answers, he left humbled with reverence for our Baba. a few days later, the Pathan started sending both milk and fruits to our Baba. Later on, Baba came to learn that the Pathan was the local Zamindar.
since then people began to visit Baba. almost everyone used to bring something for the Baba to eat. More often than not, when a lot of food-stuff was offered to him, it could not be finished even after having distributed it to all present. On days when there was an offering of 40 kgs. of raisins and almonds, Baba used to distribute the same to his disciples, without keeping anything for the next day.
i asked, “Did everyone come to you for advice?”
Replied he, “No, my dear mother, very few came for advice. some of them came for medicines, some for fortune and some others for a son. Thus people used to come to me with a prayer to make. But surprisingly, the women (with their faces veiled) made no prayer to me. They, while standing by the rivulet, used to pay their respect to me.”
Thus, our Baba realised that he was getting crowded and that meditation allows no crowd. so he, at dead of night, without letting anyone know, left the place for good.
Those who are devoid of desires can adjust easily to any country. Baba told us his personal experience. he said, once he used to stay on the bank of a huge lake, close to the city of Bharuch, Gujarat. The circumference of the lake was a couple of miles. Baba used to walk round it daily. The grave of a Muslim Fakir, under the shade of a Neem-tree, was along the way. One day while walking he noticed that this was a beautiful place and sat down there. When he left that place, he was seen by a Muslim. Baba, on the other hand, did not see him. he then left for his cottage. Later on that Muslim let his villagers know that a hindu monk had defecated at the grave of the Fakir and that in order to bring the soul of that Fakir under his control he had meditated at that place. Besides, that hindu monk after having circled the lake used to visit that grave everyday and meditate there. angered, many a
