Replied he, “Whatever a man is doing in his present life. if one dedicates himself to worshipping God, then the impact of Destiny becomes less. similarly, whatever a man is destined to undergo can be made less by continuously doing things good. Destiny is nothing but the effect of what a man has done in his previous lives. By virtue of good actions, a man can bring about certain changes in the deeds of his previous births.”
he was questioned, “how can the effect of things done in the present birth be destroyed?”
he answered, “it can be done by only Jnana (gyana). ज्ञािान्निः सवजिकम्रार्ण भस्सात्ुरुते तथा॥
jñānāgniḥ sarvakarmāṇi bhasmasātkurute tathā . (Gita 04/37)
