One asked, “Baba, how do we get rid of propensities?” Replied he, “One can kill his desires by judging the thing or things to be done.” he also added, one can limit anger by forgiveness; greed by satisfaction; enmity by love, attraction by conscience and ego by judicious judgment and humility.
after that Baba told us something about these sins and advised us that the sages do not remain happy with suggestions, they instead keep the suggestions in mind and endeavour to translate them into reality. Baba then recited with all piety in a melodious voice—
saccidānaṃdasvarūpoham
Baba then told us that it is the crux of all, as said by Paramhans. Our sri Rama Krishna deva said in simple language, “Do anything you like with the realization of advaita.”
One day Baba said,
dākṣiṇyaṃ svajane dayā parajane śāṭhyaṃ sadā durjane, prītiḥ sādhujane nayo nṛpajane vidvajjanepvārjavam. śaurya śatrujane kṣamā gurujane, nārījane saumyatā, ye caivaṃ puruṣāḥ kalāsu kuśalāstepveva loke sthitiḥ.
Once in the course of a conversation, Baba told us, self-reliance gives one stamina. i am a woman, i am without power—one must not think in this way. i am all pure, i am the repository of an infinite power,—thoughts of these kind are always great. One who will raise his power will be given even more power. if in danger, one has to have patience and judgment. To make this point clear, Baba told us, at Peshawar there was a barrack, called ‘hathimaidan’ (which may not exist now). One Punjabi-hindu was there in the barrack. he took pains to cook for himself. so he wrote a letter to his wife, “Do come to me. i have no leave and so i cannot come home now.”
