work. The King, in company with his courtiers, came to see the work. On seeing the very first artwork, the King was exceedingly happy. Then the partition, between the walls was removed by the order of the King. he looked on at the mirror-like wall. he was surprised to see that whatever the first artist had created looked all the more beautiful as this was reflected in the mirror-like wall on the opposite side. Being highly impressed by the artistic skill of the second artist, the King duly rewarded him.
Once Baba told us that to find fault with any thing is to get associated with it, because if one has to find fault with a certain thing, he has to deeply think over it. Without thinking about anything, one should be totally oblivious of it. To drive home this point in our mind, Baba told us a story.
Once a King decided to be wise. To be wise one has to learn from a sage and therefore the King sent messengers to every direction of his kingdom in quest of a sage. sages in great number came his way, but the King was not satisfied with the advice offered by them. The gems of advice made no mark on the mind of the King, who was engrossed with earthly things. Being angry with them, he put them behind bars. as a result, there was an air of fear all around. The other sages and their disciples tried their best so that the sages did not enter the court of the King.
at that time a very powerful sage came and appeared in the court. he ignored the warnings of his disciples and entered the court in order to mitigate the plight of the other sages as well as to dispel the doubt in the heart of the King. at the very sight of that powerful sage with long locks, the King bowed his head in awe. Getting down from his throne, the King duly greeted the sage and offered him a seat. after a few words, the King prayed for his advice. The sage said, “One who offers advice is the Guru and the other who learns or receives the advice is his disciple. if you look up to me as your Guru, then i can offer you my advice.”
The King became his disciple. The sage then said, “i am now your Guru and so you must do what i order you to do.”
“What is your order?” the king asked. “Come with me”, said his Guru.
