one who has a pair of eyes to see with is made blind. One who can hear is turned deaf. One who is intelligent and cunning is deprived of his intelligence and cunningness. a man of patience loses his patience. When he is under my sway, he pays no heed to a good-willed man. so one who undergoes a drastic change in my presence can attain everything but Peace. Then Baba, in a melodious voice, recited a poem in Gujarati:
अंध करूँ दृगवंति कधो, श्ुतवंति कधो बलधि कि डारुं धृतवंति कधो अधीि करूँ, पुिः चातुि की मतत दूि िीवारुं
aṃdha karūṃ dagavaṃtana ko, śrutavaṃtana ko badhira kara ḍāruṃ dhṛtavaṃtana ko adhīra karūṃ, punaḥ cātura kī mati dūra nīvāruṃ
On hearing these encouraging words, attraction said, “Bravo! You must go at once. Wage a war against Peace and do kill her.” Conscience on the other hand, getting to know all about it, felt worried and asked Subuddhi how to protect Peace. he also said to Subuddhi, “attraction is all out to kill Peace with anger, the Commander-in-Chief. Now tell me the way out.” assured Subuddhi, “We have one with us who can counter anger—he is none but forgiveness.” Forgiveness on being called in, paid his obeisance to Conscience and with folded hands said, “Your highness, which order am i to carry out?” Conscience told him all about it and said, “Find out the means of saving Peace.” On hearing it, Forgiveness said, “i am sure to counter anger.” Conscience heard the words of Forgiveness and said, “Tell me, what arms do you have to counter
and kill anger.”
Replied he, “जब कोई नर, क्ोध करे ्तब मौन रवहए, ्यवद गाली दे ्तब उसके प्रव्त
कोमल िाक््य भजजए, ्यवद धधक्ार दे, ्तब पाँि पवड़ए, और ्यवद िो मारने लगे ्तो समजो ्ततुम्हारा पूि्व पाप नाश हो रहा है।
Jab koi nar, krodh kare tab maun rahiye, yadi gali de tab uske prati komal vakya bhajiye. Yadi dhikkār de, tab pao padiye, āur yadi wo mārne lāge to samjho tumhara purva pāp naash ho raha hai.” That means, when a man, out of anger, will speak ill of others, one has to remain mum. if the anger of that man does not calm down, then one has to speak to him in gentle words. if that fails to quieten
