and the man was sentenced to be thrown behind bars. The thief who had made away with the King’s necklace, kept hidden in his pocket, could not be nabbed.
having told the tale of the two thieves, Baba advised us, that gold stands for every precious metal, wealth, luxury, name, fame, wife, son, kith and kin. all these things which are taken to be very valuable things by worldly men are the root cause of earthly bindings. since human beings remain engrossed with them, they are reborn only to undergo untold miseries. and the one who having stolen the necklace of the king, went out of the palace by keeping it in his pocket is the possessor of Paramgyana. Once a man acquires it, it does not bind him, instead it wins him deliverance. Wealth, luxury, kith and kin, in reality, stand in the way of one’s realizing Paramgyana. Then he again remembered the advice of the Mahatma so he went further into the jungle. Then he saw a silver mine. as a result he earned more money. Later he again moved further to find a gold mine. But he did not forget the Mahatma’s advice—“Aage Badho” as he was not addicted to all these precious and valuable substances. Thus he moved forward repeatedly. Finally he was able to merge with the Paramatman. sadhubaba told us that, the same rule needs to be followed in
