the way of sadhana. One should continuously move forward and not be attached to anything one has acquired along the path of sadhana. in this way there will be progress and at the end there will be the desired attainment of Parmatman.
One day Baba told us a story. There grew a friendship between a dung beetle and a bee. The bee once invited the dung beetle. The dung beetle brought some dung in his mouth as he thought that his friend might fail to give him some good food. The bee gave a warm welcome to his friend and took him to the King’s garden where he satisfied himself sucking nectar from sweet-scented flowers. Both of them sucked nectar from various flowers for quite some time after which the bee asked the beetle, “My friend, how is the taste?” To this the dung beetle replied, ‘There is no taste in the nectar of these flowers.’ Thinking that his friend fed himself on much better things, the bee took him to the best part of the King’s garden. he helped his friend to the best flower in the garden. But as usual the beetle could not get any special taste. The bee was surprised and soon found the reason for the tastelessness. seeing some dung near his friend’s mouth, the bee took him to a lotus pond and washed him thoroughly, then seated him on the best lotus and flew away. The next day the pujari of the adjacent shankar temple plucked away the lotus along with other flowers to be offered to Lord shiva. Then a bhakta poured a pot of Ganges water on the shivalinga where the lotus flower was adorned and it was thus washed away. The lotus flowed through a nullah and ultimately floated in the Ganges. The next day the lotus blossomed after the sun rose but the beetle was so engrossed in drinking nectar that it had no intention to fly away.
The bee looked for his friend at many places when it did not find him in the pond. he assumed that his friend might be in the shiva temple as flowers were collected from the pool. On investigating he did not find him there and thus proceeded to look for him in the pool back again. at last he found him. he called his friend but his friend said:
