manapakṣi taba laga uḍae viṣayavāsanā meṃ jñāna bājakī jhapaṭame jaba laga āvata nāya
The mind flies like birds in the forest unless Knowledge strikes like a falcon. (Desire is lost only when full knowledge is obtained).
brahmajñāni sadā nīrlepa jaise jalame kamala alepa
Just as the lotus is separated from the water although situated amidst it, the ‘Brahmagyani’ (self realized person) lives in the world, isolated without being involved in it.
nahīṃ jñānakī gāṃṭhaḍai, nahīṃ cāturako coja, manakī kalpanā miṭanī, yahī anubhavako oja
Knowledge cannot be limited into a bundle. it is also not an object of show for an intelligent person. When all kinds of imagination disappear from the mind, true knowledge (gyana) can be realized.
One day Baba told us a doha of Kabir. Baba said that there was a butchery where the great devotee Kabir lived in his small cottage. Many animals would perish there every day. Kabir felt pained. One day Kabir calmed his own mind saying-
kabīrā terī jhoparī, galakaṭoṃuke pāsa
jo karegā so bharegā, tū kyoṃ bhayo udāsa,
O Kabir! Your hut is next to the butchery. Why do you suffer in vain? They shall pay for their deeds.
