a well-furnished room at the palace in the capital was kept reserved for Baba, but the latter preferred to be put up in a small bungalow in the tea-garden.
On his return from Tripura, Baba had been to susanga at Maimengsingh. it is a very old land, close to the Garo hills. Now the hills and the forests are under the subjugation of the British Raj. Down the generations, the King of the land had inherited the title ‘Rajeswar’, bestowed on him by Maharaj Mansingh.
Both the brother and his wife of the Maharaj were initiated by this sadhubaba and therefore on being invited by them he paid a visit to susanga. instead of staying in the palace, he stayed in a tent in an open space alongside a mango grove, a little away from the palace. sri hujurananda avadhoot was then his one-and- only companion during that sojourn. he was an ardent devotee of Baba. Most of the time he stayed with Baba at the Kailash and accompanied him during the latter’s tours to different places. Never did he leave the Kailash with any other person except sri hujurananda avadhoot.
The stay at the open space amidst sylvan beauty gave Baba immense joy. The range of mountains in the distance, the shro- taswati at hand and surama Devi, the mother of a good son, a devout devotee, devotedly sitting at his feet—all these in their totality pleased Baba most.
Never ever did Baba stay at one place for a fortnight. a fortnight over at susanga, Baba left for Rajsahi. The news of Baba spread through letters and telephone. The news that Baba had granted our fervent prayer and that he was coming to our place at Rajsahi got spread everywhere.
Baba graced us by coming to our place on the 4th of Vaisakh. after having had a bath in the Padma, he came to our place and had his lunch before 12 noon. sri hujuranandaji never took his lunch after 12 noon. in the afternoon, Baba narrated to us the experiences of his stay at Tripura and susanga. To him, susanga is more picturesque than Tripura. Besides, susanga felt cool and comfortable. susanga was a place that abounded in fish in the river, agricultural products in the farms and deer in the forest.
