The thief explained all that he had done. The king got impressed at his honesty. he then advised him to join a Government service by discarding the path of dacoity. The dacoit on his part left the trade of dacoity and gradually by virtue of his intelligence rose to higher post. in course of time, all the vices he had, got cleansed. Only by virtue of his devotion to truth and honesty he won the post of a minister. and thus he proved to be a very deserving disciple of Mahatma, his Guru.
On telling this tale, Baba went out for a walk. and when he returned after sometime, we all ran to wash his feet. What a show of devotion! While someone was pouring water on his feet, some other was rubbing his feet or wiping them. six of us fell at his feet. Then someone was fanning him, while some other finding nothing left to do began washing his stick and wiping it. Baba made no remonstrance, lest someone should feel hurt. so long, the service was going on, he only mildly uttered, “जशिोहम्, शतुद्ोहम्, बतुद्ोहम, नीरंजनोहम्, धनवि्वकारोहम्, सच्चिदानंदस्िरूपोहम् shivohaham, shuddhoaham, Buddhoham, Niranjanoham, Nirvikaroham, Satchidanandaswarupoham”. it is easy to assume what Baba had been thinking at that point of time.
Thereafter when we all, sitting at his feet, were listening to his words of advice, there occurred a topic on an angry man. On that context, Baba told us a tale:
a pious as well as a hospitable man had a cantankerous wife. The husband felt sad at heart though, he could hardly bring about a change for the better in her. although he could not entertain the hosts at will, he did not stop himself from serving others.
Once a genuine Sannyasin came to the house of a man. The head of the family cordially received him and asked his wife to entertain the guest. Within a short while, he had to be out of station on an important business. Before he left, he let the guest know of the nature of his wife.
The guest easily understood that the husband did not speak much about his wife because the latter, while preparing a dish for him (guest) began calling him names which he heard very clearly. But he remained mum and unaffected. The words of insult kept increasing. On having completed the preparation of the dish, she,
