—meaning, Vishnu the husband of Goddess Lakshmi carries a five lettered ‘su da r sha n’ wheel. if you remove the first letter ‘su’ what remains is darshan, give me that, by making yourself present.
The other letter he read out was—
हधोवे लशव कैलास में, तब शधोभत कैलास शूि समत चलते समे, सचति हम हधो उल्ास
hove śiva kailāsa meṃ, taba śobhata kailāsa, śūna mita calate same, citta hama ho ullāsa.
—meaning, if God shiva be in the Kailash, then he adds to the beauty of The Kailash. Dear friend, before we leave this place, if we are fortunate enough to see you in person, we would call it a grace of God.
so Baba was all intent to be back to the Kailash. he might have to linger a day or two in Kolkata because as many as two hundred disciples were fervently awaiting his arrival there.
in order to gladden our saddened heart, Baba told us a tale of a parrot. Once a sage happened to be a guest at the palace of a King. The sage had a pet parrot with him, whom he had taught prayers and shlokas from the Gita. The King used to enjoy hearing the shlokas and stotras from the Bhagvad Gita. after a sojourn at the palace of the King for a few months, the sage offered the parrot to the King and left. since then the parrot was very dear to the King. he enjoyed its constant company and used to listen to his recitations.
The King had a paramour. she came to learn that the King loved it and was used to listening to the philosophical talk of the parrot. The prostitute felt jealous of it. she was therefore under the impression that by hearing the philosophical words from the parrot, the King might develop a feeling of detachment, and if it proved to be true then it would portend ill to her.
One day she impressed the King most by her dance and songs and prayed for the bird as her reward. The King thought she felt like serving the bird. and the King parted with the parrot and offered it to his paramour.
at first chance, she asked her attendant to put it to death.
