what it had said. it only said, “Chest guard, sword and shield. in fact, the bird means to imply that by means of using these armours destroy the enemy in order to safely restore peace on earth”.
But the wrestler was the last man to agree to what the others had said. he said, “The bird says, “Take exercise of every tough kind,’ i.e. build a strong and stout physique by means of which your enemy will be trounced. Moreover, there would be no disease in you and you will not be an easy prey to senility quite early.”
On hearing the words of the wrestler, the merchant added, “No, this is not what the bird is saying. it says, “salt, oil and ginger. That means, do your business with salt, oil and ginger, earn enough money and walk along the right path of life.”
having told this tale, Baba said, “The bird said none of these things. it only uttered its own sweet notes. But everyone concerned, depending upon his mental make-up and mind-set, heard it in his own way.” saying this, Baba added:
जधो ज़ाकी भाविा िही ज़ैसी हिी सुित देखी तति तैसी
jo jaākī bhāvanā rahī jaaisī, harī surata dekhī tina taisī.
People imagine God in different forms. some worship him as shankar, some as Vishnu, some as Kali, some as Bhagavati and some as the sun. and God, by way of granting the prayers of his devotees, appears before them in those forms. But God, in reality, is formless. Paramatman is immanent. he is Omni-present. That this world is but an illusion is but he. Nothing remains except he. Just as gold ornaments cannot exist without gold, both the flora and fauna will cease to exist without Brahman. One who is really enlightened sees Brahman present everywhere. Only the ignorant debate over names.
Baba said,
यह जगत हिी कधो रूप है, हिी रूप िजिी आय, जधो दद्तीय मिमें धिे, भय तहीं वेद बताय।
