Third Taranga
One day Baba said—
शान्न् तुल्ं तपधो िास्स् ि सन्धोषात्पिं सुखम् ि तृष्ायाः पिधो व्ालधिजि च धममो दयापिः
िाणक््य नीव्त 1307
Meaning: There is no penance equal to peace, there is no happiness like satisfaction. There is no disease like greed and there is no religion like compassion. Peace is my happiness. Do not be thirsty, do not be afraid of religion.
it means, there is no other peace save meditation, there is no other happiness save satisfaction, there is no other malady save thirst or temptation, and no other work is nobler than service.
But how to remedy this malady? Until this body is rid of desires and temptations, it is impossible to have peace and bliss at heart. Now is it at all possible to cleanse this body of all sorts of desires and temptations? They say, those who are avadhoot are rid of all kinds of desires and attachments.
[Note: ‘a’ means a state of mind, freed of all kinds of temptations, ‘v’ means to be cleansed of all desires, ‘dhoo’ means a body cleansed of dirt and dust and ‘t’ means one who enjoys pondering over spiritual philosophies and divorced from thought, effort and egoism].
it is also said, the state of a ‘Paramhans’ is much higher. srimat Maharshi Yagnavalkya has said, the sannyasins, when elevated to the state of Paramhans, must shake off the intention of getting settled there in the way one shakes off the dropping of a pig. Whatever one gets without any prayer must be taken to sustain himself. if one gets no clothes to put on, he must remain bare-bodied. in that state of mind, he would be far above all desires. They will make no effort to be elevated to this state of mind. One, who himself is Brahma will remain speechless, unaffected and will be as innocent as a boy, being one with Brahma. it is he who is ‘Brahmakoti Paramhans’. and one who is ‘ishakoti’, being free from all human desires, plays
