My Lord, whatever we see is born of ignorance (‘agyanata’). Just as the sky seems to be blue, this world of ours is but an illusion. Judge it by yourself. This world is subject to death and decay. Your body is sure to perish, but what you yourself are in reality is imperishable. Whatever is indestructible is permanent. it is called Paramatma. and what is destructible is nothing but untrue or false. Cast aside the untrue only to stick to what is true.
if you try to understand the form of atma, you will realize—
अजधो अतविाशी आत्ा ब्रह्म नित्य सच आिंद। ब्रह्म मधोद जागधो गुरु में, तजधो में लगे ि गंद्॥
ajo avināśī ātmā brahma nitya saca ānaṃda, brahma moda jāgo guru meṃ, tajo meṃ lage na gaṃddha.
यह जािे तब की छूटे जगत ब्रह्मामें। आत् तत्त्व प्रकाशते िहे भवम् कछु महे॥
yaha jāne taba kī chūṭe jagata brahmāmeṃ, ātma tattva prakāśate rahe bhavam kachu mahe.
This atman, which is beyond any decay and undying, is the thing of joy because it is permanent. atma is detached. it has neither the authority nor the desire to enjoy. When the atman will realize its existence, it will have no feeling of difference or duality. and then and then only will you realize that atman pervades this vegetable world. and after that where is your individuality?”
The King said, “i will think over what you have told me, but how can i forsake my determination?”
The Queen said, “Despite all this, are you still decided to renounce family life? What is it for that you are ready to wander in the forest? have you ever tried to find out who is exactly there in your mortal frame? Why are you getting tempted to the things afar by leaving aside the thing near? Why are you leaving the diamond-mine which is close at hand in search of silver which seems to be available in the mountains and the forest?
