in meditation. i have now no duty to do, and as i am born of a camel mother, i need neither much of food nor drink; so i make no effort to fetch me food. i remain absorbed in meditation for much of my time. i am really happy, my revered Mother.
sankari said, “i am really happy with you. so long i had been testing you. Now pray for a boon from my end.”
sanat said, “i have no desire at all. i have nothing to pray for, Mother.”
sankari said, “Then you offer me your blessing.”
sanat said, “i am ready to offer my blessing. What do you want, Mother?”
sankari said, “i want you as my son.”
sanat said, “Granted. i will be born of you.”
To help fulfil the divine will, sanat was conceived in the womb
of Bhagavati. and he was named Kartik.
Fifth Taranga
the holy company of a sage is always ennobling. Whenever i happen to go to my Guru Maharaj or any sage, it is their company that helps dispel petty thoughts from my heart and i
get freed from the feeling of material gains. and every time i get back home, i get entangled with things petty, far from the spiritual thoughts. Once a gentleman asked Mahatma Vijaykrishna Goswami, “if a dip in the Ganges amounts to cleaning of all the sins why then does one pay for his sins or mistakes”. in reply he said, “When the snakes see one getting down to the Ganges for an ablution, they get away from him and when the ablution is over, the snakes get back, entwine him and seduce him to commit sins once more.” and these words are really pregnant with thoughts. as long as we enjoy the holy company of a sage, the feeling of
