‘Uparam’ means, detachment and indifference ‘Titiksha’ means, to endure the sting of coldness, warmth, happiness, name, ill-name, gain, loss, etc. and to remain unaffected.
Once Baba advised us, one’s wealth does not suffer if it is offered by way of charity. But it suffers if one wants to enjoy it in luxury. “swami Turiyananda, the direct disciple of sri Ramakrishna Paramhansdev, once said—if you want to emulate the path of meditation, never get yourself attached to amassing money. Out of money comes nothing. it is indeed a problem to set up an ashram. There are people who observe that they are earning money for the sake of others, but believe me, they do it for themselves only. it is for this reason, money begets no happiness. it instead invites many a trouble.”
Baba in fact said this to us. Within a very short while he became rich.
he built a house for himself and then got married. he began to donate money among the poor and the homeless without amassing any wealth for himself. he used to offer food and shelter to those
