of the King. The queens came to know about it, the officials of the Court-Palace came to know about it. Everyone seemed to be all out to make the matter public.
Within a span of four or five months, the King showed signs of improvement. Within seven or eight months the wounds started healing. in the ninth month, the King became cured of his disease. in the tenth month, in the places of the wounds new flesh started growing and in the eleventh month the King was no longer a disabled one. The princess said to her father, “Dear father, you are now completely cured.”
The King said, “Yes i am and this is because of your exclusive care and the grace of the sadhu Maharaj.”
“so why should we stay here? Let us leave this house”, said the princess.
“Not now. i must wait for the Sannyasin. Only a month to go before the year is over”, said the King.
“What more will he do to you? You are completely cured of your disease”, she said to her father.
“he has asked me to wait for only one year. i have given him my word”, the father said.
The year came to an end. a highly spirited sannyasin appeared in the court. The throne was lying vacant. The minister, by sitting at the feet of the throne, used to govern the country. The Sannyasin said, “Where is the King”?
someone said, “he is in the newly-built house.”
“Let him be informed of my arrival”, the man said.
“Who is with him now?” questioned he.
“he has been staying there with his widowed daughter, but
there are no attendants, but there is only......” said the man.
The King was duly informed. he had been waiting for the Sannyasin to come. On being ordered, the wall blocking the main gate was soon demolished. The King ran out of that house and fell at the feet of the Sannyasin. With hands folded, he said, “Now
that the year is over, where is my medicine?”
The Sannyasin asked, “What is the medicine for?” “it is for my disease”, said the King.
