there is no reason why one runs after uncertainty. i have not seen God. i have not even witnessed what heaven is like. The effect of a noble deed is only found recorded in almanacs
or scriptures. still, we all run after uncertainty. What is it for? is it for the next birth? is it a yearning for heavenly abode? has one, who, having lived in heaven come down to tell us that it is immensely beautiful or something superb? On achieving heaven, has one descended to tell, “Renunciation is simply heavenly. if you worship and meditate, you too will attain renunciation. Forsake your desires and longings and you will not undergo the cycle of birth and death?”
Not at all. None has said this. it is likely that only those who have not attained heaven or attained renunciation run after uncertainty and tempt us to bring them under their sway. They may say that they have forsaken everything and taken only a koupin. They may say that there is neither happiness nor contentment in attachment, instead there is indeed happiness or contentment in renunciation. One who has really realized that there is definitely happiness in seeking that gREaT iNVisiBLE and there is nothing but pain and suffering in the very thought of thiNGs VisiBLE, one who has realized that there can never be any happiness in the pursuit of thiNGs EPhEMERaL (lasting for a very short time) and that there is only bliss and happiness in the thought of thiNGs EVERLasTiNG one who has been for eleven thousand years telling us that forsake your desires and cast aside your longing for thiNGs tEMPORaRY can say this. such a lesson is being imparted by many, but is it mandatory for us to accept that lesson? One of them has sung:
Bibhatsā bishayā jugupshita tamoh kaya boyo satwarang, Sarbairbandhuvir dhwanibo pothikoiryogo biyogā bahoh, Hāt byohaym shār ebo birashah samsara ityadikong, Sarvashaibo hee bāchi chetoshi punoh kasyapi punyātmohoh.
