Meanwhile, the syce had undergone a total psychic transfor- mation. Maybe it was because of the impact of prayer to God or because of good deeds done in his previous life or realizing the devoutness of the King shown to him, he had detachment roused in his heart of hearts. he thought in himself, one who happened to be the humblest of the attendants of the King and one who never dared pay his obeisance to the King has had the obeisance of the King at his feet. To whom did the King pay his naman (i.e. obeisance)? Was it to his ochre robe? To whom did the King offer all these costly jewels? Was it to his ochre robe? if that be so, then why should i forsake this robe of a sage? if the deceitful sage is so revered, then shouldn’t i endeavour to be a real sage?
Concerned to the core, the minister returned to the jungle and saw from afar that the syce had not left the place. as the minister approached him, he saw that the jewels, offered to the sage, were lying untouched as before. To add to his surprise, the minister saw that the syce was sitting with his eyes closed and he seemed not to have cast a look at the jewels offered. The minister called him by his name and the deceitful sage opened his eyes. The minister said, “i am really satisfied with you. You can now enjoy the half share of the jewels in front of you.”
said the syce, “i need no jewels, you can take all of them. allow me to bid adieu to you.” and he left for real meditation.

it was really interesting to listen to the thought-provoking advice of our Baba due to which we used to go to the Kailash. in order to teach us that time being too precious must not be wasted for anything, our Baba told us the following story:
