then he had to visit the house of many who called him earnestly in distress or from the core of their hearts. Once an orphaned and aged woman wished to see Baba towards the end of her life. Baba went to see her and even stood beside her burning pyre till the last rites were performed.
The next day in the morning Baba graced our ‘Lalkothi’. We were prepared for him with incense, flowers and sitting arrangement. That day Baba told us a story. Once there was a Yogiraj who had a jewel ‘Chintamani’. That jewel had tremendous power. One could get anything one wished for through that ‘Parasmani’ or ‘Chintamani’. The Yogi thought that as he did not need anything he could use it to create a beautiful and pure country. he did so. Rivers of pure water flowed in that country. he created honest subjects. he gave each one of his subjects one ‘Chintamani’ each so that they could acquire the things they desired. Without having any unfulfilled need these people lived in utter happiness. The Yogiraj then left for his own pilgrimage.
after quite some time the Yogiraj had a desire to see the condition of the palace which he built. When he came there he found that his kingdom was under the control of five cheats. his constructed houses were devoid of beauty. suffering from varied scarcity and hunger people there were no longer graceful. On investigation, he found that five cheats from other regions had come to that place for hunting. seeing the prosperity, and beauty of the place the cheats ultimately found that it was the ‘Chintamani’.
The five cheats were jealous of the people’s happiness. They became friends with the local people as they started living in that place. at last the cheats came to know that the ‘Chintamani’ was the source of their happiness and prosperity. They even came to know of its shape and structure. They then placed a fake ‘Chintamani’, in each house, at the dead of night. in the morning seeing a new and lustrous ‘Chintamani’, the householders were very happy. The old ‘Chintamani’ was left aside in utter neglect and gradually layers of dust covered it. The existence of the old one was soon forgotten. soon they understood that they could not get what they asked from the new gem. Thus they continued farming under the five cheats
