him whether it was a fault to have meat and fish, Baba replied that eating habits depend on one’s disposition. sri Bhagavan has mentioned three types of food habits (Gita 17/7,8,9,10). Mahatma Vijaykrishna Goswami has said that in course of time one does not wish to have non-vegetarian food when one is totally submerged in ‘Naama’.
Once a lady told Baba that she could not endure any physical hardship. she could not even endure the hot rays of the sun and, therefore, needed an umbrella. People felt that she could never follow the path of endurance. she asked Baba whether she would ever develop tolerance.
smiling mildly Baba said, “Why will you not have endurance? One can use those things if he or she wishes but should not be distressed if lacking in that quality.” if the feeling of dearth is absent, endurance will surely develop. Contentment is necessary in all situations.
Then Baba had only one blanket. One bhakta had given him a thick and valuable blanket which he used sometimes. according to Baba, he had no constraint in using those things.
When we told Baba that last year we had faced many troubles on our journey home for Jasidih; Baba then said, “This time you will reach your destination without any trouble.” We then surely reached our destination safely with his blessings.
We could not forget Baba and his enlightening discourses after we reached home. We again longed and looked forward to going back again to Jasidih.
