follow, “Renounce every earthly desire to devote yourself to medi- tating on God.” The King took these words to be the Mantra. The King was humble enough to pay his obeisance to the sage and offered him gems as his fees. The deceitful sage then uttered “sit down” and left the place.
Thus seated, the King got absorbed in meditation with a resolute mind. Day in and day out, the King got lost in meditation. Without food and sleep, the King began meditating with the mantra “sit up”. Vishnu in heaven got impatient at knowing about the iron resolution coupled with the meditation of the King. he appeared before him and said, “i am satisfied with you. stand up and return to your Palace”.
Despite recognizing Vishnu, with his conch, wheel, mace and lotus, he said, “Excuse me, i cannot carry out your words of advice.” “Why can’t you, dear? it is my order”, said Vishnu. The King replied, “The order of my Guru is even more important than yours.” Finding no other alternative, Vishnu then brought the fraudster there. On being commanded by Vishnu, the fraudster put on the disguise, kept hidden in the hole of the tree and appeared before the King. On seeing the Guru, the King felt happy like anything, paid his regards at the feet of his Guru and thereafter at the feet
of Vishnu. On telling this tale, the sage said—
गुरु गधोतबंद दधोउ खडे, काके लांगु पाय। बललहािी गुरु आपिे गधोतवंद ददयधो बताय॥
guru gobiṃda dou khaḍe, kāke lāṃgu pāya, balihārī  guru  āpane   goviṃda   diyo   batāya.
That the Paramatman is omnipresent became a topic of our dis- cussion one day. Baba said, “One who knows how to look at things sees different figures and images outside but he finds the presence of the Paramatman in everything and everyone. he sees nothing different, instead he sees the one in many.” To clarify this point, our Baba said, “a man had inherited a few images, made of gold. They included sri Ramachandra, sita Devi and Mahavir hanuman. in course of time, he was overtaken by poverty. and when his country, was afflicted by drought, he was left with no
