and said, ”You have hundreds of rich disciples and bhaktas. if you express your desire then a building can easily be built here. Why have you taken so much trouble?”
Baba replied smilingly, “i have no trouble, mother.” On hearing this, i remembered a remark of Rabia, “One who is always attached with self (atman), has no feeling of happiness or sadness”. We do not know how Baba was able to bear such trouble, but perhaps the almighty could not tolerate Baba’s trouble. Within a few days, we saw the old room was broken down and a new building started to emerge. During that time Baba stayed in a small tent for several months. he used to sit on a big stone during the day and we sat on the ground near him. That time Baba would recite some self composed Dohas, some from Tulsidas, Mahatma Nanak or sant Kabirji. i would like to quote few beautiful Dohas here.
घट-घट में िहे साई िमता, कटु वचि मत बधोल िे। धि यौवि का गवजि ि कीर्जए, झुठा पाँच िंग पधोल िे॥
ghaṭa-ghaṭa meṃ rahe sāī ramatā, kaṭu vacana mata bola re, dhana yauvana kā garva na kījie, jhuṭhā pāṃca raṃga pola re.
it means, the supreme rejoices within every human being, so don’t speak bitterly with anyone. Do not boast of vain riches or youth. This body in the form of a dress is an assimilation of the five elements.
पािी बीच मीि प्ासी, मधोहह सुि सुि आवत हँसी। घि में वसतु िज़ि िहीं आवत, वि वि निित उदासी। आत् ज्ञाि तबिा जग झुठा, क्या मथुिा क्या काशी।
pānī bīca mīna pyāsī, mohi suna suna āvata haṃsī, ghara meṃ vasatu najara nahīṃ āvata, vana vana phirata udāsī, ātma jñāna binā jaga jhuṭhā, kyā mathurā kyā kāśī,
i laugh when i hear that a fish is thirsty even in water. When one cannot see the objects in the house, the person roams about in search for it in the jungle. The point is that, whether you visit Mathura or Kashi, the World will remain meaningless to you without self-knowledge.
Baba also said, “as long as a human being has individual knowledge, he will be veiled in his outlook. When the individual
